Happy Saturday Chickadee's.  This is a pin cushion I made for a friend's birthday.  I got the old sifter from an antique store.    When I saw it I thought it would make a great pin cushion.  I am not sure if I am done I feel like it might need a little something more.  I will just have to look at for a while and see what comes to me.

On the top I just had to add a yoyo flower with a green button.  With some rick rack trim.

On the back I made a rick rack bow with a blue button.  I made the pins out of some beads I had.

These pin wheel block's I made are going to make a comfort quilt.  I am not sure of the quilter's name.  We where asked to make them for a quilter that has cancer but it is all a surprise.  I will keep you informed of the progress.

I have been cutting out 2 1/2 inch squares out of some scraps I have.  Not sure what I am going to do yet.  But they will be there for when I get a vision.

It is such a pretty day here.  The outside is calling me.  So I thought I should clean out some of my flowers beds.  Hope all of you are having a beautiful day.

Road Trip

Today I needed to go to the Social Security office to get some paper work so I can complete some things for my dad.  I was so determined not to go to Houston.  My cousin Natalie saved my day by telling me there is a Social Security office in Brenham.  Yeahhh!  Going to the country is much better.   Found it easy peasy NO long line did not take long at all which left time for thrifting.  Brenham is also the home of Blue Bell ice cream yummmm.

Found this sweet lady in a thrift store I like to visit when I go there.  I think the proceeds go to a near by homeless shelter.   Just feel in love with her sweet little face and the flowers on her dress.

Oh my goodness I found this Dick and Jane book for $1 oh yes $1.  Dick and Jane are my favoritest. (I know that is not a word WHOOPS)  I am pretty sure it is a newer book but I did not care I LOVE it.  Then I came across these small chalk boards for 25 cents.  They are going to be so sweet in picture frames.

Just had to show you a page from my new book.

Then there is a furniture store there Hermann Furniture "Since 1876" that is a must for me to visit every time.  There is an awesome antique store in there.  That is where I found this feed sack.  SCORE!

So on my way home I stopped at another antique store in Bellville.  That is where I found this sweet lamb at a bargin price.  Just could not resist the sweet little face.  The eyes will make you melt.  Well my sweet little lamb had an accident.  While I was getting the keys out of my purse I dropped it.  DARN IT   I got the head glued back on and you can not even tell it broke except for the ear I got some of it back on and the rest of the pieces do not fit.  I am looking for suggestions as how to hide the break on the ear.

Well it is movie night.  Not sure what we are going to watch yet.  But I do know there will be popcorn.  Hope ya'll have a wonderful evening.

Just take a look at these wonderful goodies I got this week.  I joined the Once A Season Swap at http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/.  Since it is Autumn in Australia  this is an Autumn swap.   My goodies are from Sarah at http://bloggingwhilewaiting.blogspot.com/  Thank you so much Sarah for the wonderful goodies.  And thank you Cheryll for being such a wonderful swap momma.

This is a book mark that  Sarah's daughter made for me.  It is so sweet and she did a GREAT job.  Thank you so much.

On Saturday I finished quilting the Blissful Day quilt I made.  Sorry there is no picture.  Our weather has been dreary with NO sun.  But we are getting a lot of rain.  All I have to do is sew the binding on and down.   Today I did mindless sewing and listened to the rain.  I got the binding all sewn down on the paper doll quilt for my friends daughter.   Hopefully we will get enough sun so I can take a picture of it.

Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL week.

My New Toy

One day last week I had gone to JoAnn's.  In the JoAnn's near me there is a sewing machine shop inside.  I had asked the lady there about the new Singer 160 and she thought they had all been sold.  She made a call and the person on the other end said that they had ordered some.  So she offered to put my name on a list so I agreed but never thought she would call.  On Saturday she called so we ran to JoAnn's I could not wait to get there.  I thought I was just going to look at it.  Well I could not resist.  It is just to cute.

I bought this duck to recover a rocking chair.  But I decided to make this yarn bag out of a little piece of it.  This is the first thing I made with my new beauty.

And on the inside I just had to have polka dots.

Today I sewed the rick rack on  my Bissful day quilt top.

This is how it looks finished.  I am thinking the back should be red with white polka dots.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend.
